Around

Another spring journey in the Galilee. Today we hopped in a little car with the JT team and visited all the stops we will make on on our costume hike. Then, we just kept going, all the way around the Sea, over the Jordan river twice, to the top of a hill on which one of the Decapolis cities once stood, through Arab and Jewish towns and farmland, up to the top of Mt Tabor, where we watched the sun set and some guys sail over the Jezreel Valley between Mt Tabor and Nazareth. We traveled 10 or 12 days of walking in one day. A full, green, educational day.

Flowers around the Druze holy site, Nebi Shu'eib where we collected some video footage for JT.

On to the Arbel cliffs.

And around the Sea to Kursi, the region where Jesus threw demons in to pigs near the cities of Gedara and Gerasa.

Now a Byzantine monastery sits near the site.

Next we visited Hippos or Susita, a Decapolis city ruins and Israeli outpost in the war with Syria.

Mt. Tabor at sunset.

The Orthodox church on Mt Tabor.

We saw three guys parachuting off the mountain as the sun set.
