Faithful God 1

September in the year of our Lord 2010

Thank you God for…

…a wonderful two weeks with Candice, Tom and kids in Thailand.

…safe travel bringing us to Nazareth (with the help of some very kind Israelis along the way).

…no difficulties bringing our guitar on four different airplanes (we had been worried).

…our little rustic apartment that begins to feel like home in spite of itself.

…our Cross Cultural Discipleship class that challenges and encourages us.

…meaningful relationships developing at the Inn, NV, and in the neighborhood.

…awesome foods and the beautiful hands that grow, pick, cook, and sell or give it to us.

…continuing to bless our marriage relationship and helping us to communicate with each other in the midst of all these changes and stressors.

…the support we’ve felt from VMMissions and our families.

Please forgive us for…

…our sinfulness and our pride.

…our failures and our weak wills.

…our ethnocentrism, subtle and not-so-subtle.

…our angers not tempered by your love and forgiveness.

Please give us patience for…

…each other.

…maneuvering between multiple “bosses”.

…the people who set off fireworks randomly until sometimes well after midnight.

....taxi and sherut drivers who try to rip us off.

…difficult personalities.

…our inability at times to communicate or understand.

Please lead us by your Spirit’s wisdom into…

…greater wisdom as we interact with people from all over the world with beliefs spanning many spectrums. Season our conversation with your salt.

…formal language training in Arabic beginning this month.

…deeper relationships with believers and non-believers.

…a community of believers with whom we can give and receive encouragement, as well as—most importantly—bring honor and glory to You in this place with praise.

You are our hope, our life, our strength and reason for living.

Our hearts, minds, bodies, and souls are Yours.

May we bring You glory every day.
