The view from our roof where we grilled huge steaks on our little charcoal grill one night when J and J were visiting. Jason and Philip played guitar and sang long before Jenny and I climbed up the rickety ladder to join them for supper.
Waiting for the car rental place to open.
The Jordan. We met up with some American English accented religious Jewish boys rafting down the river; their prayer shawls soaked, a couple of them stopped to chat with Jason who was contemplating the river.
Laughing at Capernaum.
When we visited the Mt of Beatitudes we found a shady spot and took turns reading through the Sermon on the Mount.
Fun splashing in the choppy, warm Galilee.
Philip learning to make delicious cinnamon rolls one morning for our breakfasts.
Kanafe with Jenny and Jason.
The evening after we said goodbye at the airport, Philip and I found our way to a delightful, artsy hostel in Old Jaffa (near Tel Aviv) for the night. In the morning we wandered around the crazy flee market and seaside walk near the hostel. We happened on a warehouse art gallery for Palestinian artists. Definitely a highlight.

Ha! Philip -- was that glass in your hand your rolling pin for the cinnamon rolls? I've tried that before! Nothing can really replace a rolling pin.
