For you, Anita, from N.V.

Today we found our way to Nazareth Village. Although it was not the route we intended to find, we still made it ahead of schedule. We met Gosayna and Hannah E. Hannah E. remembers that Anita was the first person who welcomed her to the village with an invitation to wash her street dirty feet in scalding water. She is the volunteer coordinator. Gosayna is the director. We feel that we will like working with her very much. She is laid back but competent and also seems to be a good listener. She has also lived in Australia and the U.S. for many years, but is an Arab so she understands cultures and cultural differences well. Once she just broke into a story about her children without us encouraging her at all. Delightful. We had an intro with these women then rushed into an English tour with the leader of the tour guides, Daniel. Daniel is one of the only Jews on site. He is a Messianic Jew and passionate about his work. He will be training us to be tour guides. We have a stack of script to take in in the next week.

Next week we will help serve 120 people from the kitchen for lunch on Thursday. Friday and Saturday will be our 8 hour days at the village. More training and physical labor on the land because it is Yom Kippor and everything will be closed.

Everyone was delighted to hear that Philip was Anita's brother. They love you, Anita! "How is she?" "Does she have children yet?" Ivonne and Lubnah were especially delighted, and Abu George shook Philip's hand a second time and with vigor when he found out you were related.

This afternoon we packaged little terra cotta lamps for the gift shop and studied our scripts then found our way home with two bags! Our stuff that others had brought earlier. Lots of books!
Now we prepare for a shift at the Fauzi. 7-12 tonight.
