Time and Events

Philip inspecting our birthday gift from Elliot and Vincent! So cool. We like it. We've had a great birthday so far. More to come about it because we are still in the middle...

Last year we had a real Harrisonburg birthday complete with Taste of Thai, Kline's and a great church league basketball game.
This year Philip played with EMU cross-cultural students, Taylor (JT volunteer), and young Arab guys. He played yesterday and today. I sat in the sun and watched.

Yesterday after the "games," we went Arab and threw ourselves a party. At significant and celebratory times here, people bring sweets to friends and family. So, we made hamburgers (the first we've had here) and bought a chocolate cake and celebrated with JT staff.

Cake shop owner: Do you want me to write something on the cake?
Us: Sure!
Cake shop owner: What name?
Us: (look at each other) O, no name.
Cake shop owner: Whose birthday is it?
Us: Both!
Cake shop owner looked like that was cute and interesting:)

Last week I (B) walked with two different groups on the JT. The EMU cross-cultural students and a mixed group of interested hikers, including the 91 year old Merrill.
